A hand-woven grass stand used for placing earthen pots. Aaer was commonly used as a base, to be placed on the head when fetching water in clay pots. In the Kashmiri Pandit festival of Herath, an Aaer forms an integral part of the Pooza Saamagri (paraphernalia) and is used as a stand for the Nout (earthen/metal pots used in the Herath Watuk Pooza)
